SVG tools update:

• Stefan Goessner has announced MecChart, a COM charting component for SVG.

  Goessner writes that the component is targeted at scientific/technical applications, and that:

  It was primarily developed for being embedded in web pages. But it can be used via script with any container application, that can embed ActiveX Controls.

  Web-page embedding is only available with the Internet Explorer browser. An SVG viewer plugin is required to use the charting component.

• Michael Bierman of Adobe announced that their SVG viewer has been localized for French, German, and Japanese. The viewers can be downloaded from Adobe's US site and Japanese site.
