Slashdot asks about XML
14:12, 17 Jan 2000 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Slashdot's "Ask Slashdot" feature today has a question about using XML in the backend for a multiple-output format web site. The resultant discussions provide an interesting overview of XML awareness among Slashdot readers.

The questioner asks: "XML is the wave of the future, that's for sure... But what tools are available to actually incorporate XML in a system that can do all things we poor webdesigners dream of?". Interested xmlhack readers may want to join in the discussion.

  • One interesting tool mentioned in the Slashdot readers' comments was Mino; a small open source XML processor based on Expat, aimed at on-the-fly XML to HTML conversions.
