SAX for WAP binary XML
07:47, 15 Dec 1999 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Stefan Haustein announced on XML-DEV that he has implemented the SAX parser API for binary encoded XML.

The binary encoding for XML was developed by the WAP Forum and intended for use in wireless devices and PDAs.

Haustein's parser is written in Java, and comes with an example for use on the Palm Pilot. The author reports that something like a org.xml.sax.wap package is required to provide a standard way of dealing with the WBXML extensions.
