Expat improves Windows support
18:16, 29 Jul 2001 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Expat, the C-based XML parser originally created by James Clark, has had a new release, including build support for Windows.

Part of many popular applications, including Apache and Mozilla, Expat moved to a SourceForge project some time ago as software authors whose applications depended on it wished to improve its portability.

The latest release, 1.95.2, includes the following changes:

  • Will build on Windows with Visual C++
  • Added a Windows installer, includes the xmlwf.exe program
  • Changes to improve Unix portability
  • Fix UTF-8 BOM bug

A full changelog is available at SourceForge, as is the source code and binaries.
