Java
Apache Cocoon 1.8.1 released
09:53, 19 Jan 2001 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Robin Green has announced Cocoon 1.8.1, which fixes a large number of outstanding bugs with Cocoon 1.

New features include:

  • Esql logicsheet for database access, supporting features such as integration with other logicsheets, prepared statements, and multiple encodings. This supersedes previous database access methods.
  • Better installation instructions covering a number of servlet engines, including Tomcat.
  • Support (albeit inefficient) for FOP 0.15 (XML-to-PDF conversion)

Bugs fixed include the "Internet Explorer PDF bug", and a bug which prevents Cocoon from working with Websphere. A new bug database and patch queue have been set up on the Cocoon web site.
