W3C publishes XML 1.0 Second Edition
06:47, 9 Oct 2000 UTC | Edd Dumbill

The World Wide Web Consortium has published the second edition of the XML 1.0 specification.

Edited by Eve Maler, this second edition incorporates the errata to the first edition of the XML 1.0 specification, originally published in February 1998. The specification is changed in no other way than this--it still defines XML 1.0.

The W3C has also helpfully provided a review version, which highlights the changes made between the first and second editions.

What next for the XML Core Working Group, now the corrected XML 1.0 spec has been published? According to the XML Activity futures page, we can expect a version 1.1 of Namespaces in XML.
