Software AG has announced Tamino 2.2, a new release of their flagship XML data server, now bundled with third party design tools.

The new Tamino release 2.2 for Windows NT includes:

  • XMetaL XML editor from SoftQuad
  • Stylus XSL style sheet editor from eXcelon
  • XML Authority schema editor from Extensibility
  • Breeze XML Studio for Java integration from The Breeze Factor

With these additions, Software AG intend to "simplify the construction of complete, Tamino-based applications" and enforce their tagline of "XML company".

The company has recently published an "XML backgrounder", showing their perspective on XML, and a Datapro Summary from the Gartner Group about Tamino.
