Apache SOAP 2.0 released

The Apache XML Project have released Apache SOAP 2.0, an updated version of the Java SOAP toolkit originally contributed from IBM's SOAP4J software.

This version includes the following changes:

  • A serializer for Vectors and Enumerations
  • An array of bytes (i.e. byte[]) will now be serialized into a SOAP-ENC:base64 type.
  • Addition of source distribution
  • Restructured documentatiom
  • A new 'soap' webapp, which provides access to the web-based admin client, and the rpcrouter servlet.

Apache SOAP is available for download in both source and binary form from the Apache XML distribution web site.
