New SOAP, XML-RPC implementations
20:01, 22 Jun 2000 UTC | Edd Dumbill

  • Fredrick Lundh has announced a SOAP 1.1 implementation for Python.

Lundh notes that soaplib.py is still experimental software, and best used at the moment for XML-RPC style communication between Python programs. It has, however, been shown to work with UserLand's Frontier SOAP implementation and is expected to interoperate with IBM's Java SOAP classes.

  • Jan G.P. Sijm has released an XML-RPC client and server for COM.

Sijm provides some good documentation, with examples of how the COM objects can be used from Visual Basic.
