DocBook 4 for XML has been released by the OASIS DocBook Technical Committee.

The latest version of the popular DTD for technical documentation includes broad changes required to bring XML compatibility to the former SGML-only endeavor.

DocBook users can use either DSSSL or XSLT stylesheets to format DocBook documents. Norm Walsh, author of DocBook: The Definitive Guide, has posted DocBook XSLT sheets on his web site, as well as those for DSSSL.
