XML Query Data Model released
22:17, 11 May 2000 UTC | Simon St.Laurent

Jonathan Robie announced the first public draft of the XML Query Data Model.

Of the document, the first formal deliverable beyond requirements, Robie said:

"I think that this document illustrates how formal notation can increase precision and clarity while reducing the complexity of a spec."

The data model proposed supports schema types (though not yet keys and key references), references (idrefs and perhaps XLink?), namespaces, and collections of documents (rather than just single documents), as well as the XML features identified by the XML Infoset.
