Datatypes for DTDs, Character Collections, W3C and E-Commerce
15:47, 17 Jan 2000 UTC | Simon St.Laurent

The W3C has released three new Notes. Datatypes for DTDs (DT4DTD) 1.0 provides a set of tools for indicating datatypes within XML 1.0 DTDs. This note marks the official publication of work previously available at the Extensibility Web site. A Java SDK that provides support for the DT4DTD mechanism is also available.

A Notation for Character Collections for the WWW updates an earlier note that described how to define sets of Unicode characters. The changes are fairly minor.

W3C and Electronic Commerce provides a listing and description of e-commerce projects underway at the W3C. Developments including micropayments, metadata, digital signatures, PICS, the Platform for Privacy Prefences (P3P), and the Joint Electronic Payment Initiative (JEPI) are described in a larger e-commerce context.
