A Turtle for the Semantic Web?

Dave Beckett has published a new version of Turtle (Terse RDF Triple Language), a compact (non XML) syntax for RDF.
Turtle is inspired by N-Triples, a more ancient proposal and attempts to use the experience of N3 (the most commonly used compact syntax for RDF) while insuring full compatibility with the RDF model (which is not the case with N3).

RDDL 2.0 is "disappointing" due to changes in the link semantics and retention of the original namespace.
