English-language XSLT training comes to Tokyo
11:20, 23 Aug 2002 UTC | Michael Smith

Ken Holman will come to Tokyo in October to conduct his Practical Transformation Using XSLT and XPath (3 day course - October 7-9) and Practical Formatting Using XSL-FO (2 day course - October 10 and 11) training courses. Information about the courses is available both in English [XSLT/XPath] [XSL-FO] and in Japanese.

There is a large population of native-English-speaking developers of different kinds working in Tokyo; for them, these courses (which seem to have a good reputation in the XML developer community) may offer a rare opportunity to receive quality XSLT/XPath and XSL-FO training in Japan in their native language.

The site for Holman's company, Crane Softwrights includes a page with schedules and syllabi for all upcoming courses as well as a page providing information about previewing and purchasing related electronic books that are "supersets" of the handouts used for the training courses.

It doesn't provide any kind of online form for registering for the courses offered, but says that "technical and service offering inquiries" should be e-mailed directly to Holman at <gkholman@CraneSoftwrights.com>.
