John Cowan has posted
on xml-dev a generic Relax NG schema for Xlink, taking advantage of the
flexibility of Relax NG wildcard patterns to validate any document only if it
conforms to XLink.
Generic schemas validating XLink attributes in any XML document need to
define wildcards for the name and content of such elements while still
expressing the constraints between elements holding these attributes (such
as: extended XLinks include resources, locators, and arcs). This is impossible
for DTDs or W3C XML Schema, the reason why no normative schema for XLink has
ever been published.
