The Apache Jakarta Project has released version 1.5Beta2 of its cross-platform Java- and XML-based build tool, Ant.

The Jakarta Project describes Ant as a build tool "kind of like Make, but without Make's wrinkles and with the full portability of pure Java code." The release announcement states that this release of Ant provides greater stability than the 1.5Beta1 release, along with numerous bug fixes. A changelog lists the changes between the 1.5Beta1 and 1.5Beta2 releases as well as the changes made since the 1.4.1 release, which include numerous feature enhancements.
