Zope gets SOAP
01:31, 3 Dec 1999 UTC | Edd Dumbill

The open source application server Zope is to have full SOAP support, according to a press release from Digital Creations.

Paul Everitt, CEO of Digital Creations, provided this helpful translation of the press release on the Zope mailing list:

We'll be adding SOAP support to Zope as an augmentation of the XML-RPC support that is there now. Also, Microsoft engineers are talking with us about interoperability with the beefed-up DAV implementation in Windows 2000.

The release coincides with the submission of SOAP 1.0 by Microsoft, Userland and Developmentor to the IETF as an Internet Draft.
