In his opening keynote at XTech 2000, Jon Bosak
announced he has stopped his W3C involvement to concentrate
fully on OASIS, and urged XML developers to lend their
support to OASIS as well.
In a speech highlighting the dangers of non-
interoperable e-commerce systems, Bosak said that OASIS, as
an organization dedicated to interoperability, provided the
best way for developers to ensure the continuing openness
of XML.
He challenged both vendors and developers to support
standardization through OASIS. He said was tired of hearing
complaints from developers who did not get involved in the
standardization process.
After his talk, he was presented with a plaque naming
him "XML Father", in recognition of his long service to XML
at the W3C.
