The Open ebXML Project have released tools supporting document generation for ebXML Business Process Analysis worksheets, and Finetix have released an open source tool for processing FpML, the financial products markup language.

• The ebXML tools support PDF generation from the XML versions of the 15 forms defined by the ebXML Business Process Analysis Worksheets & Guidelines v 1.0. The tools incorporate support for SVG, and use XSLT and FOP to perform their transformations.

  The current version of the tools, 0.40, is part of a series of "proof of concept" releases preceding an alpha release expected later this year. Additional slated features include creation of DTDs and XML Schemas, synchronization of schemas with UNM and BPSS modules, improved graphical design and documentation.

• Finetix have released Reportix, an open source tool supporting report generation for FpML. The Java tool generates PDF reports, and is intended to be integrated in a J2EE environment. (We were unable to ascertain from Finetix' web site what license Reportix is released under.)
