Mark Baker has announced the RESTwiki, a discussion site devoted to documenting and understanding REST, essentially the "HTTP is expressive enough" position on Web architecture.

Baker writes that topics of discussion will include:

• Various descriptions of REST and its pros and cons
• REST & Web services
• RPC, SOAP, and REST
• REST FAQ

REST (Representational State Transfer) is a phrase invented by Roy Fielding in his dissertation, which attempts to "describe the Web's architectural style in a rigorous enough fashion to make the principles both comprehensible and extensible."

Aside from Baker and fellow REST fan Jeff Bone, early contributors include Net technology pundits Clay Shirky and Lucas Gonze, as well as familiar XML name Paul Prescod.
