Native XML database for Linux
21:44, 16 Jul 2001 UTC | Edd Dumbill

A new native XML database engine, available as a technology preview download, has been created by German company data ex machina.

Natix's developers report that their engine can be mounted in much the same way as a normal filesystem, giving any application which can deal with regular files the ability to import, export and query XML documents.

Natix requires Linux to run (kernel 2.2.16 or later, or 2.4.*), with CODA support enabled in the kernel. A technology preview can be downloaded from data ex machina's web site.
